Default Unknown Ambulance

A friend of mine just sent me this picture. This unit was operated by the Bouctouche St. John Ambulance Division. I will try to get more information (and more pictures). At first glance this looks almost like a homemade conversion. What do you think?

Default what I think

I think it is a Dodge or Chrysler wagon to begin with. That looks like woodgrain panels on the bottom.
