Removing weather seals

Does anyone have any hints on how to remove old weather seals (and associated adhesive) from doors? I'm removing mine using a Dremel tool but it's taking it down to the metal. I tried solvents but it makes a real mess and drips everywhere.

Thanks in advance. Jim

the best way way I have found is a putty knife. you can them wipe down the remaining adhesive with some 3-M adhesive remover but it will still cut into a lacquer paint enamel reducer will not and is about a good. if you tape off at the edge of the adhesive line after you peal the rubber you can use a a scotch pad with the reducer to remove the old adhesive easer with out damaging and paint. just start it by sliding the putty knife anywhere you want and work your way around it. you get the rubber cut off and it looks about like this. then you can clean off the remaining with the reducer.
