Purple Flashing Funeral dash Light

Several years ago, I bought a purple dash light from PCS member Michael Granoth in Connecticut. He has/had a side business selling these. Dont know if hes still a member since my latest edition of the membership roster is useless to me. I see his name in the 2010 printed roster though.

all the new funeral processional lights I see on the internet are strobes, I really don't want one of them. what I'm looking for is the older type with the bulb in the centre and a shield rotates around the bulb ( like what the 1980's cops used ) that plugs into the lighter

Hey Mike, seeing that funeral directors are known for saving things, ask around to local funeral directors see if they have one kicking around, our local directors are so young they looked at me as if I was an alien. So I will go see the old... I mean the more seasoned directors.

Try calling Galls: Dyna Med their number is 1.800.477.7766 ask the representative about the light and the purple color lens. They have NOS not listed in the catalog. That's how I got red highbeam bulbs for my 64 Caddy. and the company that makes them is

I always find this subject interesting. Nebraska funeral homes don't use purple lights since our funeral escort vehicles (coach, limo, seperate vehicle) under state law are considered authorized emergency vehicles and can use red lights. The funeral home I work at I just replaced our old Federal Fireballs with LEDs.

Nebraska State Statute,
60-6,231. Flashing or rotating lights; authorized emergency vehicles; colors permitted.

A flashing or rotating red light or red and white light shall be displayed on any authorized emergency vehicle whenever operated in this state. A blue light may also be displayed with such flashing or rotating red light or red and white light. For purposes of this section, an authorized emergency vehicle shall include funeral escort vehicles.
