Poindexter closing Federal Coach factory

whats important to note is Federal is NOT going out of business; they are merely consolidating their operations and closing one plant.

Same thing only different

Which probably means a basic version of the Eagle design will be available with a Federal Coach badge. Have you ever heard of a company called Accubuilt? ;)

According to my sources, Tony is correct. Plans are to "soften" the front roofline of the Federal coaches to more closely resemble the Eagle design. Poindexter has stated that they do not plan to "mix and match" the badging, but time will tell for sure. There is already one Eagle Coupe de Fleur flower car with Federal badging in existance...

Speaking of new professional cars, I was again reminded of how the "times are a'changin'" with the arrival of the December issue of The American Funeral Director magazine. For the first time in many decades, there is no professional car preview. Accoding to Senior Editor, Brian Johnson, there just weren't enough changes to the major brands and coachbuilders' designs to warrrant a 2010 preview.

Instead, space was dedicated to other "transportation" features including a Wisconsin funeral director who collects rare Graham-Paige automobiles, results of a 2009 professional car survey, and a Maine couple who turned a very rare 1990 S&S commercial glass Chevrolet hearse into their family station wagon. :(
