1994 Front Drive Flower Car

I agree. However, it's a pretty slick conversion and the original owner may have had it built to match his funeral coach and other cars in his fleet at the time. I wonder who carried out the conversion. Certainly interesting. Thanks for posting this.

Upon reflecting I still wish it was a rear drive. But when one considers the limited call for a Flower Car and the HUGE difference in price between a four door De Ville and a Brougham its actually a no brainer from a business standpoint where to spend your money.

It will be the 4.9 great power train. Wondering if they made a tailgate or pinned the remains of the trunk. You can see the gap around it.

The "Death Star" engine none seem to be better or worse than others. I called another yard recently looking for one for a long time customer. Me "do you have a good Northstar engine?". Answer from other yard "When did they build one?" You have to wonder where the engineers heads are (we won't go there) when they put the starter inside the engine so the intake manifold has to be pulled to replace the starter? As they say on TV "But wait" Ford not to let GM out do them has on the Police Interceptor made the water pump inside the engine and if you replace the pump by the Factory way you must pull the engine. Now one local mechanic has found a way to replace without pulling the engine but he says its tricky. And if the pump fails and you don't catch it quick the coolant gets in the oil and the engine is killed.

I've been told for a number of years that Engineers exist and ply their "skillset" for very good reasons.

12 years of translating "Management" and "Engineer" to mechanic and vice versa convinced me both groups existed to provide me with easy income from translating. Neither group can hear, and both are barely able to read at 7th grade level.

The secondary reason both groups exist is to pay Student Loans and go back to school.

Every once in a while a really clever boy sneaks into Engineering and finds a way to accomplish the impossible for no reason beyond proving he can.
Remember, manufacturers employ both groups to facilitate manufacture at lowest cost per unit out the door. There is no intention on any manufacturer's part to build a device that can be repaired and the 21st Century goal is to build machines that can't be assembled. They're making tremendous progress getting there.

now me I know they is a 100 grand award given every year for the man that can design something you can't take off with out dissembling the entire car the one rule is you have to be able to stand flat footed and see the offending part. hiding it inside another is out.

designed to assemble, not to repair. but they did not have a north-stare engine in 94 it's a good old reliable 4.9. quick as a fox run in the mid 20s low 30s all day. abandoned because it was a premium only engine in a cheap fuel minded crowd. there is the lead car for it sitting in my garage right now

It is a dealer owned car, and he is located in Rochester NH. If you Google the number, you will see other cars that he has / had for sale. It is about 130 miles for me, and about 2 1/2 hours away.

If i did not all ready have one i would pick it up. But i don't think towing another car to a meet is possible or at least wise with it.
