My Ambulance Is Here!

My 1968 Superior Pontiac ambulance just arrived tonight and I am very excited. Thanks to PCS member Thomas Leitherer, who did a great job with his description of the ambulance, it is actually better than I expected it to be. And thanks to Tim Fantin for his description. And thanks to everyone for your advice and encouragement. To say that I am thrilled, is an understatement. I know it has needs that will be handled in time, but to anyone who has seen me wishing for a Sixties Superior ambulance, you know that this is a dream come true.

I finally took some pictures!

I finally got a chance to get a few pictures of my ambulance today, so I thought I would share them with everybody. So far, nothing has been done, not even a wash job.

Wow Bill that seems to be in great shape ? some detailing and scrubbing and you got yourself a nice looking unit you can drive !

Too bad you have to put it away for another 5 months

Thanks Mike, it is amazingly straight and solid, but it needs more than a scrub and detail. As for the next five months, if I am lucky, she will be roadworthy by then. My wife and I both love this car!

Bill,
I LOVE the green and white interior!! I think you need to take it back to its original color, but in the meantime you have an extremely presentable rig there! Congrats on a good buy!!

Thanks Kurt, we are thinking alike. While paint is way off in the future, we also think we should go back to the original color. I find the interior colors very appealing, too.

Billl; Nice rig as is good detail and it will be a real head turner. I am a fan of west coast mirrors on ambulances but I think the ones there now are over kill its not a tri axel Mack. Perhaps you can find some smaller ones using the same mounting holes. The passenger car mirrors are just too small and make for trips trips to the body shop. Have not seen an interior this nice since I bought Pontiacs in the State Auction in Trenton. Look forward to seeing it in the spring.
