How many pro-car daily drivers?

I am curious about how many of the members of this board, and any friends you have off-site, use a pro-car for a daily driver. I know that there are quite a few restorers and collectors here. For me, pro-car ownership will have to be a combination of hobby and daily driver. Now, that's not to say that at some point I may not join the ranks of the collectors. However, at this point, that is just not financially feasible.

I realize that the cars that I am window-shopping right now are powered by small-block Ford or GM engines, so they aren't going to get SmartCar gas mileage. However, my wife's daily is a 1993 Roadmaster, so I expect similar mileage with some loss due to wind resistance and extra weight. I am curious what sort of other things I should expect if using a hearse as a daily driver. I'm prepared for ridiculous questions and difficult parking, I'm thinking more on the practical end of things. Have you had uniquely bad experiences using a pro-car as your daily that you wouldn't likely have had in a Ford Escort?

I don't drive mine daily, however, it is driven frequently. The only thing I've encountered is people telling me what I need to do to it. I average 21-23 mpg with mine. It has the LT-1 and 4L60e transmission. Really strong drivetrain and dependable. 147,000+ miles with no issues at all.

I have had a hearse as a daily driver for 25 years now. I also have ones that do not come out in the winter, but always have one I drive everyday, they are the only type of car I even own. As far as gas mileage if you get any from the 80s and newer with fuel injection you should expect 20-25 mpg.

daily driver for me here also. will I mix them up. but the Stoner is the only rig with studded snow tires on it right now. but the jeep is the choice for intown running this week. got the H&E parked behind the CB so need to uncover it to move the CB and the Armbruster is off site in the storage. if it's milage you worried about get a used GEO metro. none of my cars get over 15, 10 in town except the H&E it runs close to 20 on this stuff they call gas now. it made 23 on the that nasty old stuff.

Guess you could say we use a semi pro car everyday we two P70 long door crown vic limos. Just came home from hospital in the S&S Commercail glass six door. It was a hit Doctors and Nurses all came out for a look. "First time a patient ever left in a limo". The weekend formal car is an 06 Executive L Town Car with an Eagle Cary Conversion

I'm curious about what features were standard on the P70 cars. I've owned a P71 retired cruiser and a Lincoln Towncar. I've thought about trying to find a Lincoln Towncar hearse just because I enjoyed owning my sedan so much.

As far as I can tell the P70 comes with the same rear AC unit as the Executive L Town car. HD almost P71 suspention high out put alternator HD vinyl seats, carpet in the limo cop mats in the taxi full wheel caps on the limo police caps on the taxi. door mt trunk release some have gas door release some dont. the rear ratio has economy slant as opposed to copcar performance ratio. The P-70 in my view handles BETTER than he P71. My personal preference is the P70
