EMS Week

It was EMS week here this week. Not sure if this is national, or local as I've been out of the day to day EMS business for many years.

I took my 1968 M-M Classic 48 to the BBQ at North Memorial Ambulance in Brooklyn Center, MN yesterday where it was on display with their collection of vintage EMS equipment. Other metro area EMS providers had similar events.

(The lettering on the car is on magnetic signs and with North's permission.)

We took the 64 Superior to the ER BBQ Wednesday. Got a lot of attention. Wished we took some pics.

Part of EMS week here in Calgary featured a television segment on the evolution of pre hospital care. It was held at the STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society) hanger, which provides helicopter air ambulance service to much of the prairie provinces. Also attending was the latest ALS car used by Alberta Health Services and the 65 Superior from the "other" Starrs ambulance "service" here in Calgary.

Mine was at the luncheon with Former VP Dick Cheney

Invited to put the 72 Pontiac in the Acadian lineup at the "Cajun Dome" for the Annual Paramedic Luncheon last week. Guest speaker was former VP Cheney. Great day!

Looks awesome Terry, she adds that "bit of class" to the event....
!!!:)

Tim: Looks beautiful amongst the other equipment....looks like she is ready to roll code 3 !

Just for fun, I was remembering this post, a modern Demers ambulance showed up at out local old car meet and the guys asked me to take pictures side to side with their Demers truck; Quebec ambulances more than 4 decades of difference.

A provincial police officer told me about emergency lights in the Province that the car "should not be mistaken with modern cars" ... How could be? heh !
