transport companies

If you had to have your coach transported what company would you use? As some of you know I had to leave my 61 M-M in Georgia after the Stone Mountain meet. With the trans leaking fluid like it was it did not seem a good time to say we can limp home. Thanks to several club members the coach is stored safe and we got to the airport for the ride home. I have been in touch with a few companies but have not heard back yet.
It is about 550 miles from Danny's to my house. Too far to think the trans would not get worse before it got better.
Any input on this forum will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Mike

I can suggest who to stay away from as we had a very bad experience with these people and I don't want anyone to have to go through what we did. Supreme Auto Transport. They are the actual trucking company. AKA: "American Auto Relocation Professionals" "Auto Relocation Specialists: also I think they go by "Auto Relocators" some time. They just take your order and post them for any trucker to have at them. My San Diego To Mn transport was a costly mistake, and to lenghty to get into in a post. They have ligitimate looking web sites and testimonials, contracts and all. Be patient and get some referals from members. Northland Chapter website currently has links to auto transporters that Tony Karsnia has cleared already for use, that is a start.

Are you looking for enclosed carrier recommendations? I had mine transported from CA to MI this year by FedEX. I would use them again without reservation. They picked the car up and delivered it when they told me they would. From my first call for an estimate to the follow up call after delivery, everyone involved was as professional as I could expect. Even better, their price was the lowest of several estimates.

repairing in Georgia

We (Danny) asked his known wrenchers about fixing the car in Georgia. There was some concern about parts not being availible, and/or no experience on a trans this old. If I can get it home the fix is simple for us. I have a working trans availible if no parts are to be found. Like I said getting the car home is the main priority now. With info this morning (Monday) it may be happening soon.

A company we have used is Sancrest Transport.Had very good luck with them and will use them again as needed. 1-417-744-2100 Bruce or Phil.

I just used Sancrest to get the 67 from Jim in MA to MN. I had no trouble or concerns. Took them a little bit to get a load together from out east before they could get her here and I have to say the price was very reasonable.:my2cents:
