the lower hinge on the 53 was broken so we picked up a NOJ (new old junk) one from a man in Canada. got the set. just in case. now Barrette solved the gurney loading problem by hinging the door on the right side. not sure how National did it but Armbruster cut the stops on the hing back till it opened wide almost touching the taillight. there is quite a bit of difference in the stock hinge and the modified one. we took out about a 1/4 inch
