While changing the interior to black I changed the door control panel to a 2 button. Not sure but I think only superior / S&S used the 2 button panel . Cleans it up a bit.

My Masterpiece has the same controls (two switches). I have always wondered if these were GM or Accubuilt. Has anyone seen them on anyoneelses product?

When you look at the 2 button switch , its a 4 button switch the 2 back buttons are ground down. The top overly is the only thing different.

The better question will be, "what doesn't work when it all goes back together, and how much will you have to disassemble to find the problem?"

I have never done a Cadillac but loads of Caprices. For GM an awful labor intensive set up. Complicated assembly and disassembly. I am going to find out Cadillac on the Masterpiece the mice have been there. Everything still working but insulation found chewed on the floor on passengers side.

Nothing compared to a 50-60 car. At least this has big pieces of plastic and a wire harness. That you can work from the fire wall on sitting on the seat. But still better you then me.

Yeah but on a 59/60 Cadillac you can change the whole AC system, condersor, compressor, and evaporator in one set up WITHOUT breaking the charge you just had to pull the right front fender. Try that on anything made today. BUT Ford products of the late 70s and early to mid 80s you had to take everything bolted to the front of the engine off to replace the water pump hateful job. But 1/2 hour to replace water pump on Crown Victoria cop car. Alternator 10 minutes.

Dan has that job also waiting patiently in his to do list...

But changing the hose from the vents to to the outlets takes a contortionist. On that set. You better not get them on the wrong side of a wire our you got to start over again. That is tight under that dash

Back together, the Buick a/c and heat control is supposed to give you a lot more functions than the Caddy. The back half are identical and plugs are the same. You need to add the upper mounting tabs to the Buick which has tabs on the side. I will cut them off the caddy control and give it a shot.

Switch

Did not noticed part of the black dash had been hacked. Had to splice in a section . Cut the ears off of the Buick controller and the top of the caddy. Glued that to the Buick controller. Had to shim the mount a little to bring the face plate straight. Once it is back together will have to see if it works as advertised.
