Well worth the asking price
My brother Tim and I went and looked at this car today. We both feel that this car is well worth more than what the seller is asking. Starts right up, no smoke, no noises, and looks great. As the Craigslist description says, the guy has done a lot of work on this car. He was a self employed mechanic and car salesman before retiring to work on his own projects. He had the car shipped up from down south and did the work listed before losing interest. This guy has a 1967 Miller Meteor landau combination which he has a lot of money invested in which is part of the reason he is selling the 1971. The fact he has a half dozen other projects is another reason. He said he hates to sell it but knows someone should be enjoying the car rather than leaving it sit. My brother and I feel the reason the car hasn't sold yet is the fact that there aren't a lot of serious collectors in our area and the price is alittle higher than the haunted house and conversion people want to pay. If we had the extra money and the room we would have brought the car home with us. We can help if anyone is interested.

Attachment 35341As you can see the 71 is not alone. Lower left corner is the 79 flower car he has for sale. The 1967 MM landau combination is a fine car that he picked up locally and put a lot of work into. Next to the 67 are a couple of AMC products. Behind those is a late 70's Oldsmobile with 40000 miles. Lastly you can see his daily driver behind the 71 which is a 2001 police package with 39000 miles. As you can see he's got other projects he needs the room and money for. He told us he'd like to see the car go to a good home but does have it listed in several areas.

1971 M&M 3 WAY power table 39,000 miles nice car - $5500(SUMNER MI)

Very nice car runs great . Floors are solid body very good has been repainted over 20 years ago and shows good. 472 Big block turbo 400 transmission only 39,000 miles Many new parts and work done. Complete valve job all new valves, seals ,guides , all new upper gaskets , belts , hoses fuel pump and filter, New brakes , wheel cylinders , brake lines ect , new fuel lines and I believe transmission lines, transmission serviced fluid and filter , Has AC was recharged . new points ,condenser, plug wires, rear end serviced , wheel bearings packed. Runs and drives good and transmission shifts good . Still has old tires bias ply tires good tread do not leak. 3 way power table works well. All work was done within the last 4 years and I have only drove it about 100 miles In my book it still needs new tires to be driven daily. AC was recharged and is holding pressure but when you turn it on the fan does not blow and the ac compressor does not get power. The fan motor is good and I ran power to the ac compressor and it turned on and got cold. may just need a fuse I never checked it out any farther. It needs a new home where it will get drove more. I have another hearse that is my baby and have lost interest in this one

Lower price
Jim told us and at least one other person that he will take $4500 for the car. Keep in mind that there was a strike at GM in 1971 which caused lower production numbers. According to the database only 2,014 commercial chassis were made for 1971.

Kurt Arends 01-02-2018 08:10 PM

Were I the seller, I would keep the '71 3-way and dump that cheesy '79 flower car conversion!

Rich Koski 01-02-2018 10:34 PM

That's for sale too
He is trying to sell the flower car. $3000.

Kurt Arends 01-02-2018 11:49 PM

From what is visible in the photo, the "flower car" appears to be a pretty crude conversion.
