'62 Cad SDV In Local U-Pull Yard

These don't surface very often in a U-Pull in a metro area. When I shot this photo, the fork lift was coming down the row, 3 cars away from grabbing it to be smashed.

Seems a shame to crush that classic Caddy, doesn't it?

What a shame! Doesn't look to be much rust, all the glass appears intact, wow.

Actually, this photo was VERY flattering! This car was extremely rusty! Front fenders were horrible, quarters were bad, floors were completely gone! You could have stood up straight up in this car........... and danced! Really, the glass and a little bit of stainless was about all that was salvageable. I did buy the 1 useable skirt. That now gives me 4 of them that I will take to my grave!

Did you notice if it had a Guidematic or Cruise Control ? How about power seat???

Kurt Arends 02-13-2020 09:43 AM

Nearly every Cadillac passenger car had a power seat by 1962. Not much left of the dash and no control unit under the hood.
