I just received some bad news. Long time PCS member and fellow friend Lloyd Ray in Iowa (1962 C/B Chevy ambulance) went into a diabetic coma 18 days ago, and on Monday he will be moved to Respite and if he does not come out of the coma within the next 30 days he will be removed from machines.
His wife, Karen, has been taken to a nursing home for the time being.
I will keep you all posted when I receive more info.

While I have never met Lloyd or Karen, I know they are very well thought of. I will keep both of them in my prayers

I spoke with Lloyd several times at Meets and on the phone, he is a nice man. My thoughts and prayers go out to Lloyd and his wife Karen. May God Bless them both.

we got to spend the day with Lloyd when we picked up the 72 from him. a vary nice man to be with. I knew Karen was not in good shape at that time. but she signed the title for the 72 with great "pleasure". he has aways been one to drop the e-mail forward now and then. hope we can get another one from him. if not God Speed to the Civil defense station in the sky. thanks John for letting us know.

I'm sure I met Lloyd in Denver in 2005 - I certainly remember his Chevy! Hopefully he will recover - all the best to his Family and Friends.

The Rays have been supporters of the Northland Chapter for many years. Those of you who were here for the 1996 International Meet remember them attending with that neat little light blue '62 Cotner/Bevington Chevrolet. Lloyd always calls me when the announcement of our Spring Fling Meet goes out, as he wants to attend every year. Sometimes they are able to make it; sometimes not. Either way, we know Lloyd and Karen are always here in spirit.

And now we pray that they know our spirit is with them, helping them through this difficult time.

I was informed yesterday that Lloyd has come out of the coma in the last day or so. Although not really talking yet, he is responding well to yes or no questions. That is about all I know at this time.

That is great news. He might not be out of the woods, but the clearing is in sight. With time and good forune, he will be in the field again playing with his cars.

Thanks for the update John. Keep us posted if you hear any additional information. Lloyd was one of the first PCS members that I met and I instantly fell in love with his '62 Chevrolet C/B. On a visit to the Ray's home I was able to see some of his Chevy collection including the '38 firetruck that Hallmark modeled an ornament after. The Ray's are wonderful people and my family is pulling for both of them.

Great news! Never underestimate the power of prayer.
