Not a pretty site but better get it done now instead of somewhere in the hills of Tenessee. While replacing the rear-end seal went ahead and replaced the center bearing for the drive shaft.

Why is there a fuse holder hanging under the bumper?? A most unorthodox place for any electrical connection, where it will be constantly bathed in dirt and water. I wonder who the Sparky was that made that modification??????? :rolleyes:

Looks to me to be the connector for the license tag light, years ago GM factory had them just like that - rubber booted to help keep the road crud out and the light working, probably the clip came loose from the frame or body:)

that or the licence plate light on that side. but as long as your that far be sure and have them rotate the u joints. long steady drive will finish one off if it's ready to go.

It is for the license plate lights. Go figure!
