How many times have I heard in the past, "it's their car to do what they want with"? Way too many times... I often wonder if some of the people that "do what they want" with rare artifacts, would put arms and hands on the Venus de Milo??? Yes, I did hear of it happening once... A wealth doctor's wife had a sculptor add the arms and hands to a garden statue of the Venus de Milo as a present to her husband. I don't know what her hair color is/was, however, she didn't have a clue about art.
The Venus de Milo is perhaps the most famous of all antique statues housed at the Louvre museum in Paris, France. It was carved in the late second century, BC and not discovered until 1820. The Venus de Milo continues to influence modern artists.
