UK eBay is usually flooded with those. What I haven't noticed though is anyone posting who makes it or where they're finding them. If I could hunt them down here, I would probably buy one. Any ideas? I was thinking of getting one off UK eBay, until I saw the conversion rate made them $40+ plus another $15 to ship over here.

This seems to be a bit more than just a model.

This is part of a whole series called the James Bond Car Collection. The series is by subscription and is a "magazine". The model comes with the magazine. Each issue is devoted to a particular car from a James Bond film - some quite obscure. New issue every two weeks.

The publisher keeps revising the number of issues that will be published upward - currently the are scheduled up to issue 110.

The Diamonds Are Forever hearse was number 88. Number 92 is supposed to be the La Salle hearse from Dr. No. Number 96 may be a Chevrolet C-10 based ambulance from Moonraker.

That ebay auction appear to be the car only, the magazine isn't included.

More info can be found here:

The "magazine" website here:
http://jamesbondcars.co.uk/

And the publisher website here:

Subscriptions are available in a number of countries besides the United Kingdom, but not in the U.S.

Thanks for the extra info Nick.
I still cannot understand why they are selling for up to $150 on Ebay.
I will try contacting the publishers to ask about buying individual editions.

The Dr. No LaSalle hearse is out now, and it looks even better than the Caddy !!!!!! I gotta get some of these cars before they are all gone.
