Matchbox Ambulances...the adventure continues.....

Well I did manage to find some of the white ones on the shelves.....enough to repaint a few...one is slated for white over Metallic Teal. The Ghostbusters Hot Wheels has been VERY elusive as I have found only 1, Im resisting picking some up off ebay as they are still commanding good $$........Now for all you shoppers and seekers......GOOD Luck finding this variation! This ones on Ebay....

Each of 5 local Walmarts has had these on the shelves most of this week. While the $1 version evaporated quickly, the $4 version is not. Shouldn't take long before the rest of you find them easily enough.

Looked at our local Wally world AGAIN for the ambulances (both kinds) and AGAIN no dice.:( We have some @$#^%*$ that keeps cleaning out the Matchbox section.:14_6_12: The only thing that I've even been able to find there was the blue Caddy flower cars.

A friend of mine has found the solution to the guys who go clean out the cars at the stores.
Wal-Mart opens at 7am here so he now goes on his way to work and often finds the ones the night crew put out after hours.

He even sees the same people in the stores that sell them at the toy shows.

Oh well. Everyone will eventually get them once they flood the market.


Im surprized that the micro meet doesn't have a swap meet in one corner of the show. That would make getting the cars easier and also add another reason to go. I suggested it before but no reply.


I mailed a couple cars to Tony in MN before when things were harder to find.
I don't mind helping out when I can.

I think there sould also be a toy room/show/swap meet at all PCS meets as well. Starting in Albany would be fantastic !

How do you guys find all this stuff at Walmart? I go there, they only have a few Matchbox cars, no more than 20, and half of those are the blue "Austin Mini Van". That's three or four different stores, including Super Walmarts. I've never seen any around here with the Matchboxes with the box (not the usual blister pack). Hrummph!

I usually have similar luck. So far I've gotten two of the white ambulances with the red stripe, but that's it. I've noticed that around here some WalMarts have way more of a Matchbox and Hot Wheels selection than others.

I gave up driving to the stores and even enlisted the help of Kim McDonald in Michigan to find this ambulance, all with no luck! I'm happy to report I didt two on eBay today which is all I need.

Sorry I have been gone for a while, but even in my absence from the site here, I have still been picking up cars from anywhere I can.

I picked up 10 of the new Lesney Edition ambulances just a couple of days ago from one store. 4 or 5 of them are already spoken for, but I should have a couple left to trade or sell here. The best thing about all the Lesney Edition cars is that they are completely die cast metal. The bases on the $1 cars are mostly plastic these days.

I also have as many of the first edition (white w/red stripe) ambulances available as anyone needs. Unfortunately, even for those of us that seem to be able to find the cars, the Ecto is still not one that I have more than my 2 of. Still looking for extras on that one.

I have had to take care of some things getting ready for school, but I should have some time to get back here to the PCS board more often and I will list everything that I have available.

I have the same luck too Steve, only found a hearse once never any of the old ambulances. I just bought one on amazon...cheaper than my time and trips to different stores.
