He is going to have a tough time getting that price without a title.

Sorry but what's up with the "no title" story on so many cars today? Not just the procar hobby but the hot rod community also.

I can understand the "barn find", "field find", but when I see a hot rod site with a 25k car and "no title" unless that is registered in a no title state I'd just walk away.

Formal (bank) or informal lien (I'll give you the title when you pay me off), died and the heirs cannot find the title, "jumped" title, bought it and lost the title, stolen, a bunch of ways to get burned.

I've cleared three vehicles without a title, two private sales in 1979 and 1994, one from a salvage yard in 1984. Still a risk in any case. Be sure to gamble with only the amount of money you can afford to lose.

it can go smooth or be a real problem depending on were you live.

Over the years, I have bought several cars that had no paperwork. These were all from fire companies or volunteer ambulance squads That had owned these cars for a long time.
The titles / pink slips had either been misplaced, lost, or the vehicle was purchased by them from another agency, and never registered. In NY and many states it was not necessary to register an emergency vehicle back in the day. All of this was before the internet. It took a lot of phone calls and legwork, but in each case I ended up with the proper paperwork.
That having been said, my daughter in law inherited A 1963 Ford Galixie, and she lost the paper work. after 2 years we are still trying to sort out that mess.
Anyone who buys this and or any other car with no paperwork, USE EXTREME CAUTION......... You could end up with an expensive lawn ornament! :(

I've had a rule for a long time.........no CLEAN title, no money!!!!!!! I don't need ANYTHING that badly. I can find lots of other places to acquire a good case of heartburn, don't need to buy one!!!
