I always trust a seller more, when they get the year right on the car they are selling, don't you? Will get it running for serious buyer? Ever hear of soap and water? It might be a deal, but how would we know? Or, is it just me?

It would seem that serious sellers would want to make a good first impression, and a wash job would add value as well as some interior shots.:argueing::myopinion:

I think you guys are reading far too much into this listing. Did you happen to notice what it is parked next to?? I would say that it is a fire department looking to dump it. Looks to be a good deal to me! I love uneducated sellers!

Yes Kurt, you might be right, I was sort of being sarcastic. I did notice the same thing you did and it might very well be a good deal. The problem is that when a seller gets the year wrong, it makes me wonder if he has a title for that ambulance, or some other ambulance. And if you do want to sell it, why not wash it and try to get it running, then you can get real money for it.

The Hazmat sign says that you may be right about it belonging to a Fire Department.

as you are somebody that option presents itself for you also :) . but the key is still do you want to do the work necessary to get it, clean it up, get it running, then resell it. "Not I said cock Robbin". a decent buy for a man looking to get a hightop that year and manufacture. add a couple grand to get it home and the work begins. some come back to life easily, some hard.

the fact that they don't know the year says excess property being sold off by some one who never used it. layers of dust say inside storage. but like other things you got to get it, to see what is inside of it.

I noticed that this one does not have the "Tiara" over the rear of the roof. It seems that some '73s have it and others don't. Was this an extra cost option? I have never seen the "Tiara" on a '74 through '76.

The tiara was an option, not usually seen on ambulances. I would assume there was a cost of adding it, but I don't know how much that would have been.

Steve,
I was referring to the "Tiara" that you see on ALL '71 and '72 Superior 54" ambulances. I did my research in the Superior book after posting my message and I see that the "Tiara" was optional in '73 and then went away in '74 all together, which will explain why you see '73 Superior 54" ambulances in both configurations.

My 2 cents on the car. Unless you can get good pics of the interior and or go look at yourself I would be weary of the "Hazmat" sign on the front as this could be a sign of the patient compartment being stripped and or Frankensteined.

Still no call back, guess they don't want to sell too bad.
