This is first that I have heard of it. Good luck getting any where near that $12,000 figure!

Medical skeleton is worth more than casket. If that older prep was complete with ribcage and articulated, $1400-1500 is what they're bringing. Casket on the other hand...$600 +/-.

That ad really is funny on a few levels.

This casket is part of the recent Odd Fellows Lodge auction. They had 2 adult size window coffins that I bid on, I did my proxi bid over the phone with the auctioneer. In the photos there were skeletons shown in the coffins. When I talked to the auctioneer, he mentioned that the skeletons did not come with the coffin. He said they had 6 additional skeletons that were found among the Odd Fellows items when cleaning up for the auction. I offered $2000 each for them. He told me that they were not being put up for auction. I told them that there was a decent market for these things and that they could bring good money. He told me that Mike Zohn from Obscura antiques in NYC (Oddities tv show) offered 1600 apiece for the skeletons. They could easily bring 3500-5000 apiece. Would have loved to have them, Id of kept a few and shared a few with friends who collect. Guess the guy with the craigslist ad turns out to be one of the last surviving members of Oddfellows lodge.

Something strange here. The oddfellows hall closed 15-20 years ago here in Council Bluffs. The building was sold off at that time. Unless it is not the C.B. hall that they are referring to.

Well, his price has come down $10,000 since it is now vacant!
