Hello All!

It is with great pleasure to announce that the 2013 International Meet has a new home! Three weeks of negotiations culminated yesterday with the signing of a contract at a new hotel, and honestly, I think we're getting an even nicer place than what we had!

Reservations are now being accepted. The NEW official meet hotel is the:

Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport
6401 South 13th Street
Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53221

The telephone number for reservations is 1-414-764-5300. Simply mention that you're with the Professional Car Society to get the discounted room rate of $89.00 a night (plus local taxes of course). That rate is good for up to two people in a room. Additional adults are $20 per night, additional children 18 and under are $10 per night.

Set-aside rooms begin on Tuesday August 20th, and last through Saturday August 24th, figuring that most people will check out Sunday morning. The hotel is holding the rooms until July 21, 2013 before releasing them for public booking.

The hotel will honor the discounted room rate for two nights before and two nights after those dates.

There have been a couple develpments since the meet was first announced. In addition to the always-in-place dates of Wednesday August 21 thru Saturday August 24, there is now also an early-bird tour on Tuesday August 20, and the Milwaukee Masterpiece Concours has decided to have a Professional Car Class in their concours on Sunday August 25, featuring six-to-eight cars picked out from our show on Saturday.

The annual summer PCS board of directors meeting is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday August 20, and the annual PCS membership meeting is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday August 21.

Now that the hotel has been sorted out, registration information will be coming to you soon in the pages of "The Professional Car".

So mark your calendars and make your reservations, but most of all, come to the "Cream City", the "Machine Shop to the World", and "Brew Town", to experience "Beer, Brats, & Bier" at "PCS 2013 - The Meet That Made Milwaukee Famous!"

Patrick, Do you have a website for the hotel, or do you know if they have a frig or microwave?
Thanks for all your hard work in pulling this together, I will support you as much as I can!!

Thank you for your kind words, John. I have every confidence that you will be there if you can!

Hotel website is http://www.cpmilwaukeeairporthotel.com/photo-gallery.htm

As for a fridge and microwave, I was in three of the guest rooms, and I don't remember seeing a fridge or microwave, but I wasn't looking for them either. I looked at the hotel's website, and I don't see them listed as being amenities. But, if you'd like, I'll email my contact person at the hotel and ask.

John, my contact at the hotel answered that microwaves are not available, but refrigerators are available for a $25 charge.

Thank you for your kind words, Darren. They are appreciated!

In answer to the dog question, the Crowne Plaza is a no pets hotel, but Steve and I have been in contact since the Wyndham decided to close, and arrangements have been made for him.

Make sure you tell them you need to book directly with the hotel if you are calling to make reservations.

The first time they transferred me to a central booking location and then said I had to call the hotel back again after trying to book it with them.

I waited a day before I called back as I could cool down. Doing things twice isn't something I like doing.

I'm all set and booked as a couple weeks ago.

Wooohooooo !

Pursuant to Darren's post...

When you dial the reservations number (1-414-764-5300), you'll get a recorded message that starts off with "for reservations, press 1..."

You don't want to do that.

Press 0 to get the hotel operator, which is whom I was able to make our reservation with. Saves a lot of time and a second phone call.
